SMART CAMPUS CCTV SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM

Abstract

In recent years, ensuring safety and security within educational institutions has become an important concern. Schools and colleges contain a large number of students, staff members, and visitors, which makes effective monitoring essential for maintaining a secure environment. Traditional surveillance systems mainly depend on manual monitoring of CCTV footage, which can be inefficient because security personnel must continuously observe multiple camera feeds. This process is time-consuming and increases the possibility of missing suspicious activities.This research presents a Smart CCTV Based Threat Monitoring and Student Management System that integrates administrative data management with intelligent surveillance capabilities. The system is developed using Python and the Django framework and incorporates computer vision techniques to monitor video streams and detect unusual activities. The administrative module enables the management of student and staff information through a centralized digital platform.The proposed system improves security by enabling real-time monitoring and automated alert generation when suspicious behavior is detected. The integration of administrative data with surveillance monitoring provides institutions with a comprehensive management system that enhances safety, improves operational efficiency, and supports quick decision-making during security incidents.
