The evolution of Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized automation in multiple sectors, including education. This paper proposes an IoT-based smart classroom automation system to improve efficiency, energy management, and interactive learning. The system integrates IoT sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers to automate classroom functions such as attendance marking, lighting control, air quality monitoring, and projector operation. The proposed system reduces manual intervention and ensures optimal resource utilization. For instance, RFID-based or facial recognition-based systems can automate attendance recording, while smart lighting adjusts brightness based on occupancy. The system also allows real-time monitoring through mobile and web applications. Experimental implementation shows that IoT-based classrooms enhance student engagement, minimize energy wastage, and improve administrative efficiency. The study concludes that IoT-driven classrooms are a step towards sustainable and digital education.
