Abstract

The rapid expansion of online education and remote assessments has amplified concerns around exam integrity, data privacy, and candidate authentication. Traditional online proctoring systems often rely on centralized architectures, making them vulnerable to single points of failure, data breaches, and tampering. To address these challenges, this paper presents Cryptoproctor, a blockchain-based secured online proctoring system designed to enhance the trust, transparency, and security of remote examinations. Cryptoproctor leverages blockchain technology to record and verify examrelated data, such as user authentication logs, proctoring events, and system flags in a tamper-proof and decentralized manner. Smart contracts are utilized to automate exam rules enforcement and to ensure fair and transparent evaluation. The system also integrates biometric and behavioral authentication, AI-based monitoring, and encrypted data storage to strengthen the endto-end security of the examination process. By decentralizing the control of exam data and ensuring auditability through immutable ledgers, Cryptoproctor addresses critical issues like cheating prevention, data manipulation, and identity fraud. This novel approach offers a robust and scalable solution for institutions seeking secure and trustworthy online assessments, laying a foundation for the next generation of digital proctoring
