The rapid growth of digital technologies has transformed modern business operations by enabling online transactions, cloud computing, e-commerce platforms, digital payment systems, and remote working environments. While digital transformation has improved organizational efficiency and market reach, it has simultaneously increased exposure to cybersecurity threats and information security risks. Businesses today face a wide range of cyber risks including data breaches, phishing attacks, ransomware incidents, insider threats, identity theft, and unauthorized access to sensitive information. These risks can result in significant financial losses, operational disruptions, reputational damage, and regulatory penalties. Consequently, organizations are increasingly adopting cybersecurity risk management frameworks and audit mechanisms to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen security controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Internal auditing plays a critical role in evaluating cybersecurity controls, assessing risk mitigation strategies, and improving organizational cyber resilience. Research indicates that effective cybersecurity audits contribute significantly to risk identification, governance enhancement, and the improvement of security controls within digital business environments. This study examines cybersecurity risks and audit effectiveness in digital business operations using a quantitative commerce-oriented approach. The research focuses on major cyber threats affecting organizations, including data breaches, malware attacks, ransomware incidents, phishing schemes, and insider security threats. Additionally, the study evaluates the effectiveness of cybersecurity audits in detecting vulnerabilities, strengthening internal controls, supporting compliance requirements, and reducing cyber risks. The study employs statistical techniques such as descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing to examine the relationship between cybersecurity audit effectiveness and risk mitigation outcomes. Data are collected through structured questionnaires distributed among business professionals, auditors, IT managers, and organizational stakeholders involved in digital operations. The findings are expected to demonstrate that organizations implementing regular cybersecurity audits experience lower levels of cyber risk exposure, improved regulatory compliance, stronger internal controls, and enhanced operational resilience. The study also highlights the importance of continuous monitoring, employee awareness programs, and technology-driven auditing approaches in strengthening cybersecurity governance. As cyber threats continue to evolve, businesses must adopt proactive audit practices and comprehensive risk management strategies to safeguard digital assets and maintain stakeholder trust. The study contributes to the growing body of knowledge regarding cybersecurity governance and provides practical recommendations for enhancing audit effectiveness in digital business environments.
