With the rapid growth of web applications in modern digital systems, ensuring their security has become a critical concern. Web applications are frequently targeted by cyber attackers due to vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and authentication flaws. This paper focuses on Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) as an effective approach to identify, analyze, and mitigate security weaknesses in web applications. Vulnerability assessment involves scanning and detecting potential security flaws, while penetration testing simulates real-world attacks to evaluate system defenses. The proposed approach uses automated tools and manual testing techniques to identify vulnerabilities and assess their impact. The system follows industry standards such as OWASP guidelines to ensure comprehensive security evaluation. The results demonstrate that VAPT helps in detecting critical vulnerabilities, improving system security, and reducing the risk of cyber attacks. This study highlights the importance of proactive security measures in protecting web applications and ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
