STAKEHOLDER PERSPECTIVES ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN SMART CITIES: IMPACTS ON E- GOVERNANCE AND CYBERSECURITY
Keywords:

In order to safeguard computer network systems against cyber-attacks, malware,
phishing, damage, or illegal access, artificial intelligence (AI) has been recognised as
a crucial technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). AI has the
ability to enhance the cyber capabilities and security of e-Government systems used
by nation-states, local governments, and non-state groups. It is thought that the link
between AI, e-Governance, and cybersecurity is context-specific, however existing
research yields inconsistent results. Many different types of stakeholders with
different kinds of knowledge and skills are involved with and have an impact on
artificial intelligence, electronic governance, and cybersecurity. This research seeks to
address this knowledge vacuum by exploring the interplay of cybersecurity, e-
Governance, and artificial intelligence. In addition, the research delves into the ways
in which e-Governance acts as a mediator between AI and cybersecurity, as well as
the moderating influence that stakeholders' engagement has on this connection. E-
Governance somewhat mediates the relationship between artificial intelligence and
cybersecurity, according to PLS-SEM path modelling investigation. Just as the link
between AI and e-Governance was found to be moderated by stakeholders'
engagement, so was the relationship between e-Governance and cybersecurity.
Because everyone has a vested interest in a thriving, open, and safe cyberspace where
they may utilise e-services, this finding suggests that stakeholder engagement is very
important in AI and e-Governance. Government agencies in smart cities may use the
study's recommendations to improve their cybersecurity.
