Abstract

Composite materials are composed of two or more component elements mixed together to produce a material
that is better than the sum of its constituent parts. In composite materials, synthetic fibres like aramid, carbon, and glass
fibre are often used as the reinforcing element. These fibres tolerate fatigue well, are lightweight, and are robust. The matrix
material, which encases the fibres, is often composed of thermoplastic or epoxy resin. The toughness and durability of the
composite are derived from the matrix material.Applications for composite materials are many and include sports goods,
automotive, aerospace, and marine industries. Composite materials are utilised in the automobile industry to create
lightweight door panels, spoilers, and bumpers. Additionally, structural parts like the hood and trunk lid are made with
them. The purpose of this research is to create and evaluate seven distinct composite material combinations for usage in car
bumpers. Carbon fibre, graphite powder, S glass, and Kevlar will all be used. The hand layup method will be used to
produce the composites. Each composite will undergo testing for its tensile strength, flexural strength, impact strength, and
hardness. Which composite is ideal for usage in car bumpers will be determined by looking at the test results.CATIA and
ANSYS will be used for design and analysis, respectively, on the automobile bumper. For every material, the von-Misses
stress and overall deformation of the bumper will be computed. The analysis's findings will be utilised to confirm the
experimental tests' conclusions. This study will provide important knowledge on the use of composite materials in car
bumpers. The project's outcomes will assist engineers in choosing the ideal composite material for certain applications.
