State management remains a pivotal aspect of complex Angular applications. This research investigates the leading approaches in managing application state, focusing on NgRx, Akita, and emerging signal-based state management patterns. It provides a comparative analysis in terms of boilerplate code, learning curve, reactivity, testability, and developer productivity. The study evaluates each tool in real-world use cases involving form management, asynchronous data flows, and multi-module coordination. Benchmarks and case studies demonstrate trade-offs between centralized and modular state strategies. While NgRx offers strict Redux-style architecture beneficial for large teams, Akita presents a more pragmatic and developer-friendly approach. Signal-based patterns, introduced experimentally in Angular 16, show promise for simpler reactivity without excessive overhead. The paper concludes with recommendations tailored to application scale, team size, and performance needs, guiding Angular teams in selecting the most efficient state management architecture.
