The proposed “IoT-Based Smart Home Automation and Security System Using IoT and Deep Learning” integrates smart appliance control and intelligent security into a single system. NodeMCU, Firebase, a mobile application, IR sensor, camera, OpenCV, and CNN are used to provide manual and automatic control of lights and fan while monitoring the home environment. In Manual Mode, appliances can be controlled through the mobile application, whereas Automated Mode uses the IR sensor to detect human presence and automatically operate the appliances. The camera-based security module uses OpenCV for image processing and a CNN model for person recognition. When an unauthorized or unrecognized person is detected, the system activates a buzzer and generates an alert. This integrated approach improves convenience, supports efficient appliance usage, and provides an additional layer of intelligent home security.
