Abstract

The agri-food supply chain plays an important role in food security, economic stability, and consumer safety; however, conventional supply chain systems often face challenges related to transparency, data integrity, product authenticity, fraud, and end-toend traceability. This paper presents AgroChain: A Blockchain-Based Secure and Transparent AgriFood Supply Chain Management System with Endto-End Traceability, a blockchain-enabled framework designed to provide secure and trustworthy management of agricultural product information. The proposed system consists of three primary modules: Producer, Admin, and Consumer. Producers submit product details such as origin, quality, quantity, production date, and delivery information, which are verified by the administrator before being recorded on the blockchain. SHA-256 cryptographic hashing is employed to protect data integrity, while Proof of Stake and Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance support decentralized transaction validation. Consumers can access blockchain transaction information and verify product authenticity by comparing hash values. The immutable nature of blockchain records helps prevent unauthorized modification and improves accountability throughout the supply chain. The proposed AgroChain system provides complete product traceability from production to delivery while strengthening transparency, security, fraud prevention, and consumer trust in modern agrifood supply chain management.
