Abstract

Robotic support systems are increasingly being deployed across multispecialty hospitals to streamline clinical and non-clinical workflows, ranging from robotassisted surgery and automated pharmacy dispensing to autonomous logistics, disinfection, and patient-assistance robots. This paper examines the effectiveness of such robotic support systems in improving operational efficiency and the quality of patient care in multi-specialty hospital settings. A mixed-methods research design was used, combining structured questionnaires administered to hospital administrators, clinicians, and nursing staff with secondary data drawn from hospital performance reports and published industry studies. The study evaluates deployment patterns across departments, quantifies before-and-after changes in patient wait time, medication error rate, staff overtime, bed turnaround time, and patient satisfaction, and identifies the operational and financial barriers to wider adoption. Findings indicate that robotic support systems significantly reduce patient wait time and medication errors while improving staff productivity and patient satisfaction, although high capital cost, staff training gaps, and integration challenges with existing hospital information systems remain key constraints. The paper concludes with recommendations for a phased, ROI-driven robotic adoption roadmap for multi-specialty hospitals.
