Abstract

Visual impairment creates significant challenges for blind individuals in performing daily activities, particularly in safe navigation and obstacle detection. Traditional assistive tools such as white canes provide limited environmental awareness and are often ineffective in detecting obstacles at different heights or dynamic surroundings. The proposed “Robotic Hoodie for Blind Person with Navigation (H/W)” aims to develop an intelligent wearable assistive system that enhances mobility, safety, and independence for visually impaired people. The system integrates embedded hardware components such as ultrasonic sensors, microcontrollers, vibration modules, GPS, and voice guidance systems within a smart hoodie structure to provide real-time obstacle detection and navigation assistance. The ultrasonic sensors continuously monitor surrounding obstacles and alert the user through vibration or audio feedback to prevent collisions and improve safe movement.The proposed robotic hoodie also incorporates navigation and wireless communication technologies to assist blind users in reaching desired destinations efficiently. GPS and voice assistance modules provide real-time directional guidance, while intelligent processing units analyze environmental information for accurate decision-making. The wearable design ensures user comfort, portability, and ease of use in indoor and outdoor environments. In addition, the system is designed with low power consumption and compact embedded hardware for practical realworld implementation. Experimental analysis demonstrates that the proposed robotic hoodie improves navigation accuracy, enhances obstacle detection capability, and increases user safety compared to conventional assistive devices. Therefore, the proposed system offers an effective, intelligent, and user-friendly wearable solution for visually impaired individuals.
