Digital transformation has become a critical strategy in modern banking systems to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and competitive advantage. Banks are increasingly adopting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, blockchain, big data analytics, and mobile platforms to modernize traditional financial services. These technologies enable faster transactions, personalized services, automated decision-making, enhanced fraud detection, and secure digital payments. Digital banking channels such as mobile apps, internet banking, and virtual assistants have significantly improved customer accessibility and convenience. However, the transformation process also introduces challenges including cybersecurity threats, regulatory compliance issues, legacy system integration, high implementation costs, and data privacy concerns. This paper examines the role of digital transformation in reshaping banking operations and customer engagement. It also highlights the major benefits, technological enablers, and future trends such as open banking, biometric authentication, and central bank digital currencies. Effective digital transformation is essential for banks to achieve sustainable growth, resilience, and long-term success in the evolving financial ecosystem.
