Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) plays a pivotal role in the economic growth and development of India by providing capital inflows, technology transfer, and employment opportunities. This study examines the impact of FDI on India’s industrial growth, infrastructure development, and overall economic performance. FDI facilitates modernization of industries, enhances productivity, and introduces advanced management practices. The research focuses on sectors such as manufacturing, information technology, retail, and telecommunications, analyzing how foreign investments contribute to output growth, export promotion, and competitiveness in the global market. Additionally, FDI improves skill development through knowledge and technology transfer, while promoting regional development and bridging infrastructure gaps. The study also addresses challenges, including regulatory hurdles, profit repatriation, and sector-specific restrictions that can affect the inflow and effectiveness of FDI. Empirical evidence indicates that liberalized FDI policies, investorfriendly regulations, and stable macroeconomic conditions significantly enhance the benefits of foreign investments. The findings suggest that FDI is a crucial driver for India’s economic transformation, industrial expansion, and employment generation, while also fostering innovation and sustainable development. Strategic promotion and effective management of FDI can strengthen India’s position as a preferred investment destination globally.
