Abstract

The present study was designed to investigate how demographic factors affect academic resilience among adolescents between the ages of 14 and 19 years. Academic resilience refers to a student’s ability to manage academic challenges, setbacks, and stress while keeping motivation and maintaining good academic performance. The study explores the differences in academic resilience among male and female students, grouped by age (14–16 and 17–19 years) and living situation (living with parents versus not living with parents). Understanding these differences is important for helping adolescents achieve academic success, emotional health, and better coping skills during this crucial developmental period. The present study was designed as a quantitative approach for collecting and analyzing data. A standardized Academic Resilience Scale was administered to a group of adolescents selected using purposive stratified random sampling, including both boys and girls aged 14–19. The study predicts that gender, age, and living situations will significantly influence the level of academic resilience experienced by adolescents.
