The Smart Traffic Management System using Raspberry Pi is an intelligent traffic control solution designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve road efficiency. The system utilizes Raspberry Pi as the central controller, along with IR sensors to detect vehicle density at road intersections. Based on the collected traffic information, the system dynamically adjusts signal timings to provide priority to lanes with higher vehicle density. LEDs are used to represent traffic signals, while an LCD display provides real-time traffic status and system notifications. The proposed system eliminates the limitations of fixed-time traffic signals and reduces unnecessary waiting time for vehicles. The automation provided by the system minimizes human intervention and improves traffic flow management. The system is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and suitable for urban and semi-urban environments. It offers improved road utilization and reduced traffic congestion. The implementation demonstrates the effectiveness of sensor-based intelligent traffic control. The project provides a reliable foundation for future smart city transportation systems.
