This study examines the mass communication patterns reflected in the editorial and front pages of The Times of India, Ranchi Edition from January 2020 to December 2022—a period marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, shifting governance priorities, and evolving socio-economic realities. Using systematic content analysis of 1,095 front pages and approximately 900 editorials, the research identifies dominant themes, narrative styles, and transformations in media communication across three critical years. Findings reveal that 2020 and 2021 were overwhelmingly shaped by public health emergencies, with front-page news focusing on crises, restrictions, and governmental responses, while editorials provided deeper reflections on policy shortcomings, public behavior, and institutional accountability. By 2022, coverage diversified, incorporating issues such as politics, development, education, environment, and regional identity. The analysis also highlights distinct narrative patterns: front pages emphasized urgency, factual clarity, and immediate impact, whereas editorials adopted a reflective, interpretative, and often skeptical tone. Together, these sections created a balanced system of information and interpretation that guided public understanding. The study concludes that despite the rise of digital media, print journalism—especially in regional contexts—continues to serve as a vital medium for structured information, critical analysis, and civic dialogue.
