Abstract

Strategic Human Resource Planning (SHRP) is a critical component of organizational success that focuses on aligning human resource capabilities with long-term business objectives. In the contemporary business environment, organizations face increasing challenges related to workforce management, talent acquisition, employee retention, skill development, and succession planning. Strategic Human Resource Planning enables organizations to forecast future workforce requirements, identify skill gaps, and develop effective strategies to ensure the availability of qualified personnel. As organizations continue to adapt to technological advancements and changing market conditions, the importance of strategic HR planning has increased significantly. The present study examines Strategic Human Resource Planning practices at Karvy and evaluates their effectiveness in supporting organizational goals. The study focuses on workforce planning, recruitment strategies, talent management, employee development, succession planning, and workforce optimization initiatives. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to employees, while secondary data were obtained from company reports, academic journals, books, and published research studies. A descriptive research design was adopted to analyze employee perceptions regarding HR planning practices and their impact on organizational performance. The findings indicate that Karvy has implemented systematic HR planning practices that contribute positively to workforce effectiveness, employee satisfaction, and organizational productivity. The study also reveals that proactive workforce planning, competency development programs, and talent management initiatives play a significant role in achieving business objectives. However, continuous improvement in HR planning processes is required to address evolving workforce challenges and maintain organizational competitiveness. The study concludes that Strategic Human Resource Planning serves as a valuable tool for enhancing workforce efficiency and supporting long-term organizational growth. Effective HR planning enables organizations to align human capital resources with strategic goals, improve employee performance, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
