Abstract

Sustainability has become a critical concern for businesses, governments, and consumers due to increasing environmental challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, pollution, and waste generation. As awareness of environmental issues grows, organizations are increasingly adopting sustainability marketing strategies to promote eco-friendly products, environmentally responsible business practices, and sustainable consumption patterns. Sustainability marketing seeks to influence consumer behavior by emphasizing environmental benefits, ethical production processes, resource conservation, and social responsibility. Green purchase behaviour refers to consumers' tendency to prefer products and services that minimize negative environmental impacts while supporting sustainable development objectives. Understanding how consumers respond to sustainability marketing initiatives has become essential for organizations seeking to strengthen brand reputation, improve customer loyalty, and achieve long-term competitive advantage. Studies indicate that green marketing communication, environmental awareness, eco-labels, and sustainability-oriented branding significantly influence consumers' purchase intentions and green buying decisions. This study examines consumer responses to sustainability marketing and analyzes the factors influencing green purchase behaviour. The research focuses on key determinants such as environmental concern, green advertising, eco-labels, perceived product quality, consumer trust, and sustainability awareness. The study adopts a quantitative research approach and utilizes statistical tools to evaluate the relationship between sustainability marketing practices and consumer purchasing decisions. The research investigates how sustainability marketing influences consumer attitudes, purchase intentions, and actual buying behaviour. Particular attention is given to the role of environmental knowledge, green branding, and sustainability communication in shaping consumer perceptions. Previous studies suggest that consumers with stronger environmental awareness and positive attitudes toward sustainability are more likely to engage in green purchasing behaviour. Additionally, credible sustainability claims and transparent environmental communication contribute significantly to consumer trust and purchase intention. The findings are expected to demonstrate that sustainability marketing positively influences consumer purchase behaviour when supported by authentic environmental practices and trustworthy communication. However, concerns regarding greenwashing and misleading sustainability claims may reduce consumer confidence and limit marketing effectiveness. The study contributes to the understanding of sustainable consumer behaviour and provides practical insights for managers seeking to develop effective sustainability marketing strategies. The research also offers recommendations for enhancing consumer trust, promoting sustainable consumption, and supporting environmentally responsible business practices.
