The rapid advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics has significantly transformed industrial automation by enabling intelligent monitoring, remote control, and efficient material handling. This paper presents the design and implementation of an IoT-Based Industrial Pick and Place Robotic Arm with Surveillance, developed to perform industrial operations and real-time environmental monitoring through wireless communication. The system consists of a mobile robotic platform equipped with a robotic arm, gripper mechanism, surveillance camera, metal detection sensor, temperature and humidity sensors, and an IoT-enabled control unit based on the ESP32 microcontroller. The robot can be remotely controlled through a mobile phone or laptop using a web-based IoT interface. It supports directional movements such as forward, backward, left, and right, while the robotic arm performs pick, place, lift, and release operations. A wireless camera provides live video streaming for remote industrial environment monitoring. Integrated metal detection enhances safety by automatically stopping the robot and activating a buzzer when metallic objects are detected in its path. Environmental parameters are continuously monitored and uploaded to a cloud database. Experimental results demonstrate reliable robotic movement, accurate object handling, efficient surveillance, and stable cloud-based data logging. The proposed system offers a lowcost, flexible, and intelligent solution aligned with Industry 4.0 requirements.
