The increasing number of structural failures and building collapses has highlighted the need for advanced monitoring systems to ensure public safety and timely disaster response. This project presents the design and implementation of an embedded system based smart building collapse detection system that continuously monitors structural conditions and provides early warnings in case of potential failure. The system utilizes a combination of sensors such as vibration sensors, tilt sensors, and accelerometers to detect unusual movements, cracks, or shifts in building structures. These sensors are interfaced with a microcontroller that processes the collected data in real time. The embedded system analyzes variations in structural parameters and identifies abnormal conditions that may indicate structural instability. When such conditions are detected, the system generates alerts and notifications to concerned authorities or occupants. The integration of wireless communication technologies enables remote monitoring and rapid information transmission, ensuring timely evacuation and response measures. Additionally, the system can be connected to IoT platforms for data storage and analysis, allowing long-term structural health monitoring. The proposed system is cost-effective, reliable, and suitable for deployment in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. It enhances safety by providing continuous monitoring and early detection of potential hazards, thereby reducing the risk of casualties and property damage. Overall, this system offers a smart and efficient solution for improving building safety and disaster management.
