RaiseTogether: A Smart Web-Based Event Management and Fundraising Platform for College

Abstract

RaiseTogether is a web-based program, full stack, and cloud-based, that unifies event management, the registration of
participants, secure payment processing, and community fundraising into a single digital application specifically created to serve
college campuses. The project addresses a major gap in the manner the majority of Indian institutions are currently handling campus
activities, which are approached in disjointed, manual, and error-prone ways, i.e. in a manner of hackathons, cultural festivals,
emergency donation drives, and sponsorship campaigns. The system is built on Next.js 14 and App Router architecture, React as a
component-based UI building framework, and Tailwind CSS as a utility-first responsive design framework. Next.js API Routes are
linked to MongoDB in the backend with the help of Mongoose ODM to store data indefinitely. NextAuth.js provides user
authentication, including OAuth providers (GitHub, Google and LinkedIn) and the traditional email-and-password method of user
authentication. The payment layer also incorporates Razorpay which accepts a large number of payment options like UPI QR code,
UPI apps, credit and debit cards, net banking, EMI, digital wallets, and Pay Later options. All functional modules were tested with
a set of 34 structured test cases, each test case generated a passing result, which proved that the platform is prepared to go into
