AI -Based Counsellor for College and Course Selection using NLP

Abstract

Choosing the right college and course is one of the most important decisions students make after high school. Many students have trouble picking the right academic programs because they don't have access to the right advice and counseling resources. This paper presents an AIbased counseling system that assists students in selecting suitable courses and universities according to their interests, academic performance, and preferred location. The proposed system utilizes machine learning algorithms to predict suitable academic courses and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to assess user input. [1], [2]. A dataset with engineering colleges, courses, and rankings is used to make recommendations. Text preprocessing techniques such as tokenization, stop word removal, and TF-IDF vectorization are used to turn user input into machine learning features.
