Abstract

The rapid digitization of enterprise workflows has generated unprecedented volumes of unstructured document data, creating a critical bottleneck in decision-making processes. Traditional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems, while effective at text extraction, lack contextual understanding and fail to support complex business logic. This paper presents a novel AI-driven document understanding framework that transitions enterprises from Secure OCR to intelligent decision support systems. Our approach integrates computer vision, natural language processing, and domainspecific knowledge graphs to enable holistic document comprehension. The framework features multi-layered security protocols for sensitive data, adaptive learning mechanisms for continuous improvement, and seamless integration with existing enterprise resource planning systems. Through implementation across finance, healthcare, and legal sectors, we demonstrate a 94% reduction in manual review time and 87% improvement in exception handling accuracy. The system autonomously extracts entities, validates against compliance requirements, and generates actionable recommendations. This paradigm shift transforms documents from passive artifacts into active decision-making assets, enabling organizations to achieve operational excellence while maintaining rigorous security and compliance standards in an increasingly data-driven landscape.
