The modern era of technology has significantly influenced many aspects of society. With the development of intelligent virtual assistants, chatbots have become widely used in conversational services. Chatbots are software applications that utilize natural language understanding and natural language processing to interact with users in a human-like manner. They are not limited to assisting users with simple tasks such as booking movie tickets or locating nearby restaurants, but also serve as tools for entertainment, support home automation systems, provide business guidance, and assist in many other activities. This paper provides an overview of chatbots and explains the different types of chatbot systems. In addition, it proposes a classification of chatbots based on current market trends, usability, and user requirements
