The growing complexity of modern scientific research demands efficient, intelligent management tools capable of integrating data collection, collaboration, and performance evaluation. This study presents the design and development of a lightweight research management system built with Python and the Flask web framework. The proposed system provides a modular and scalable architecture that supports the complete research lifecycle—from data acquisition and storage to analysis, visualization, and dissemination. Using Flask’s RESTful design principles, the platform facilitates secure communication between distributed research nodes while maintaining flexibility for integration with external services such as data analytics pipelines and institutional repositories. Core functionalities include user and project management, real-time activity logging, automatic metadata generation, and intelligent recommendation modules powered by Python-based analytics. Experimental deployment demonstrates that the system can enhance research transparency, streamline administrative processes, and promote data-driven decision-making in academic and institutional environments. The results indicate that Python and Flask offer a robust foundation for developing intelligent, extensible research management tools that advance the goals of smart scientific research and education.
