Abstract

The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has created a demand for lightweight, reliable, and scalable communication mechanisms between devices. This study presents the integration of the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol with Python to achieve efficient and adaptive IoT communication. MQTT’s publish–subscribe model, known for its low overhead and Quality of Service (QoS) control, is leveraged alongside Python’s flexibility and extensive library support to develop a responsive communication framework. The proposed system enables seamless data transmission between IoT devices and cloud services while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing latency. Experimental evaluation demonstrates that the Python-based MQTT implementation enhances message throughput, reduces energy consumption, and ensures reliability even under constrained network conditions. This integration offers a cost-effective and scalable solution for real-time IoT applications such as environmental monitoring, smart homes, and industrial automation, contributing to the advancement of intelligent and interoperable IoT ecosystems.
