Voltage sags and swells are major power quality disturbances in modern distribution systems, directly impacting sensitive loads and distributed generation sources. This paper proposes a fuzzy logiccontrolled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integrated with a Smart Power Converter (SPC) for enhancing voltage stability and mitigating sag and swell events at both low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) levels. The proposed scheme dynamically regulates the charging and discharging of the BESS while intelligently adapting to grid variations without requiring an exact mathematical model. A MATLAB/Simulink model of the system has been developed, and simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in terms of improved voltage support, faster transient response, and reduced steady-state error. The results confirm that the fuzzy-controlled SPC with BESS provides a robust, adaptive, and cost-effective solution for power quality improvement in distribution networks
