Business organizations must provide productive and efficient processes to achieve competitive positions. Process efficiency is measurable in terms of key performance indicators (KPIs). KPIs are of highest importance to the management decision-making process and are employed by all organizational levels to measure success in the delivery of outputs. An organization must be able to ascertain its high-value high-risk data quality (DQ) issues underpinning each KPI. Thus, it is hypothesized that a strict architecture leading to mapping of DQ dimension to KPIs is necessary to establish confidence in decision-making. To develop a framework mapping DQ issues to organizational KPIs, the standing of DQ in Australian organizations and the degree of DQ initiatives capable to organizational KPIs will be examined. A proposed nationwide survey and case study findings will be utilized in combination to develop the framework for DQ effort mapping to organizational KPIs. This study will also provide an answer to the question of how criteria linking DQ initiatives to organizational KPIs can be identified
