Abstract

This study focuses on the analysis of the Funds Flow Statement of State Bank of India (SBI) to understand the movement of financial resources within the organization. The funds flow statement serves as a crucial tool for assessing how the bank mobilizes and utilizes its financial resources over a specific period. The objective of this research is to evaluate the sources and applications of funds, identify trends in working capital, and interpret the financial strategies adopted by SBI to maintain liquidity and operational efficiency. Data for the study has been sourced from SBI's annual reports and financial statements over recent fiscal years. The methodology includes the preparation of schedules of changes in working capital and detailed funds flow statements. By examining these, the study identifies key financial patterns, such as the proportion of funds generated from internal operations versus external borrowings, and the strategic allocation of these funds in investments, advances, and asset development. The findings reveal SBI’s efficiency in managing its resources, highlighting areas where the bank has effectively generated surplus funds and prudently applied them to support business expansion and regulatory compliance
