Abstract

Creating a website for community safety and crime reporting involves developing a platform where users can report incidents, access safety information, and collaborate with local authorities. Traditional methods for crime reporting often involved manual submission of reports through phone calls or in-person visits to police stations, which were time-consuming and sometimes deterred reporting due to inconvenience or privacy concerns. These methods lacked real-time updates, comprehensive incident tracking, and effective collaboration tools among community members and law enforcement agencies. Limitations included delayed response times, inconsistent data management, and challenges in analyzing trends or patterns in reported incidents. Therefore, this research develops an integrated, user-friendly website that facilitates efficient community safety and crime reporting, which enable users to report incidents online, access safety resources, receive realtime updates on reported incidents, and collaborate with authorities and fellow community members. Integration with an SQL backend ensures secure and efficient data storage, enabling reliable management of incident reports, user profiles, and administrative data. The significance of designing a website with SQL backend integration lies in its ability to provide a robust, scalable, and responsive solution for enhancing community safety and crime reporting. An SQL backend supports secure data storage, streamlined data retrieval, and efficient management of incident reports and user interactions. This integration facilitates real-time incident tracking, improved communication between community members and law enforcement, and data-driven insights for proactive crime prevention strategies. By transitioning to a modern, integrated web-based system, communities can benefit from enhanced safety awareness, increased reporting efficiency, and improved collaboration with local authorities, ultimately fostering safer and more resilient communities
